Q: How do I write for your blog?
A: The We Are Photogirls blog is run by teenagers who are passionate about what they
write about! From make up tutorials to fashion doodles and style scouting, the blog is
full of eccentric and different approaches to ‘fashion’!
If you’d like to get involved then please email us and let us know what you'd like to blog
about and we will get in touch when we need new writers!

Q: I’m bit camera shy, but would really like to come to your
workshop. Do I have to model?
A: No! At all our workshops & events teenagers can try out the many different roles in
fashion photography, but you don’t have to model! There will always be people who are
happy to model for your shoot, and you never know, once you’ve seen some people do
it for a bit you might feel a bit braver and give it a go…!
Remember the We Are Photogirls ethos is about celebrating your own beauty & feeling
comfortable with your own style... getting in front of the camera can be a great
confidence boost - but if you’re not ready to take the plunge that’s absolutely fine!

Q: I’m thinking of buying a camera. Which one should I buy?
A: The best thing to do is to go to a large camera shop, like a Jessops , and try some out.
Just like mobile phones, different people like the different menu layouts of different camera makes so it’s often a personal choice. Try to aim for a basic digital SLR – this way you will be able learn how to use the different manual functions of your camera and will be able to improve your photography.
Canon, Nikon and Olympus all do great starter SLRs that should cost between £350-£500.
These kinds of cameras should see you all the way through a photography A-Level and into art foundation.
Tip! Make sure you buy a UV filter for your lens as this is a sure fire way of making sure
you don’t scratch your lens!
Please just get in touch if you have any other questions!
